Baby’s First Christmas…Not spending too much.
I never understood the point of spending a bunch of money on an elaborate Christmas for a newborn or an infant. I just don’t see the point. The baby has no idea what’s going on, they usually end up playing with the box or wrapping paper anyway. So, I thought that when I had children, I would just put up my Christmas tree and save my money. I firmly believed this until I saw Drew’s reaction to a toy commercial.
Drew saw Elmo Live Encore and went berserk! What is this power that Elmo has over our children. It’s scary. It’s like a cult. A cult for kids! He became so excited and overjoyed that I instantly thought to myself. I AM going to buy this toy. I WILL buy this toy. Even I was in a trance.
Drew will have this toy this Christmas and I don’t care how I have to get it. He was so happy to see it, how could I resist. I am still not going to go crazy this Christmas, but I’m not going to be so judgmental of parents who do splurge on the things their kids love because now I know what it feels like to want to see your child’s face light up like…well, a Christmas tree!
So far Drew has a short Christmas list and I intend to keep it that way.

My daughter loves her Elmo Live. Shoot, I love her Elmo live. It’s quite entertaining. =) But for her first Christmas I didn’t get her anything. She was more fascinated with the tree than anything else anyhow.

So basically if the only thing we buy is Elmo Live then we’re good! lol

An even better idea is to drop some hints with your family to get Elmo! It’s likely that your family and friends will spoil your little one this Christmas, so some suggestions on what to get might be welcome. Have fun!
