Bathing is not a crime…
…but every time I take a shower I feel like I’ve stolen something! I asked some other new moms and moms with small children what time of day do they usually take a bath or shower and the answers were nothing short of shower, what’s a shower? Add that to the list of things that change when you have a baby. You can’t even bathe when you want to. Oh, but the hubsters! He can take a shower for 15 to 20 minutes without feeling any guilt whatsoever. From what I hear, I’m actually lucky because my baby is under one year old and can’t walk. When he starts walking is when it really gets tough to stay so fresh and so clean.
I can’t even remember what it felt like to take a leisurely shower. I used to use my sea salt scrub and my loofah. LOL – it sounds silly now to even think about it! I don’t have time to exfoliate! I jump in, soap up, and hop out before anyone gets hurt. I swear it feels like a bank robbery. Even blogging is like a guilty pleasure for me. I get to vent, brag about my baby, share my experiences, and express myself. All of which I truly enjoy but I have to say everything comes with guilt. Why? Let’s ask 100 fathers if they feel guilty when they park it on the sofa to watch the football game.

lol great post!
i “steal” showers when the baby is sleeping…. and even then i feel nervous/anxious that i may not hear the babe crying over the water. so its definitely a quick, tense experience.
girl you arent kidding about the hubby. i dont think dh’s lifestyle has changed much at all since the baby – he still has the nerve to “sleep in” on weekends, still thinks he can lay on the couch and watch sports and read all day, and etc etc. *smh* all i can say is wow. men and women are so different! lol. even if i could do those very same things i wouldnt want to, because my priority is spending any extra free time bonding with the baby…. and i feel that is better done sitting with him on the activity mat, versus being across the room on the couch with a book to my nose. lol
