Is Emeril Is Available for Baby Sitting?
I’m not an advocate for children under the age of two watching TV, but I do watch TV while I’m holding Drew. So that means he’s watching it too. There have been some studies about it causing attention deficit disorder later in life. I watched TV probably as early as 1 year – we should get a dog – and I don’t have attention problems. My favorite channels are Bravo, TLC, ABC, FLN and the Food Network.
Emeril Live and Essence of Emeril air several times throughout the day and Drew just loves him. If he’s crying and I need to do chores all I have to do is find Emeril Lagasse and he quiets right down. While Emeril is on, I put Drew in his swing, point him toward the flat screen, and leave the room to cook or clean. It must be his voice. BAM, BAM! – and he’s memorized. What harm could it do right?
Drew likes to watch me cook too. I brought him into the kitchen so that I could stir some veggies I had boiling in a pot (lightly boiled to preserve the nutrients), and he lost it. My baby was laughing and fixated on those swimming veggies. It was so cute. He laughted and giggled at the orange carrots, the green broccoli, and white califlower all dancing together. If he grows up to be a celebrity chef like Emeril, I wouldn’t mind.
I wonder if Emeril Lagasse is available for babysitting? I sure could use his help in that department, and since he has my little bambino under his spell, he could kick our daily routine up a notch. Emeril could cook and babysit at the same time. Thanks Emeril for giving me 30 to 40 minutes of peace.
