I’m opting out of the Flu vaccine too. When I was pregnant last winter they asked me if I wanted the flu vaccine. I said no, and my Doctor kind of tried to sell it to me. I told her I wouldn’ t get the flu so there was no need to expose my baby to it. I’m glad I stood my ground.

I have issues on vaccinations too. Basically my daughter is behind because of teething. She’ll get her vaccinations though. Mainly because of other kids who may be diseased. Herd immunity only goes so far. But I do know that she will NOT be getting a flu vaccine, hpv vaccine or meningitis vaccine.

Thanks, I do feel in my heart that it’s too soon for him to get more shots. I will have him vaccinated, but I’m going to hold off. I love all the advice I’m getting on this topic. Someone else twittered me, and said she has opted out of the Swine Flu vaccinations because the tests were not in depth enough. I live in NYC and Swine Flu is definitely on our minds right now. Well, that and terrorism.

My oldest is vaccinated through age two. My youngest has and will never receive any vaccines. My oldest will not get the others.

Here is a link to some great resources on vaccinations. If you feel in your gut that now is not the right time, then hold off. They can’t make you give him the vaccines.

Yeah, there is actually a body of research out there that suggests that there may be a link between autism and vaccines. It’s really, really scary – hasn’t been clinically proven yet. DH and I had to seriously think about this, and in the end we decided to give our baby the vaccines that the doctor recommended. We definitely want to protect him against things like polio and rubella and etc (not to mention he can’t attend day care without these vaccines) and we just pray that there are no negative, long-term effects of this.
